Marilyn moved to Timmins from Whitby in 1992. She is a small business owner, focusing on environmental biotechnology and climate change programs in Canada and Chile. She has served on several community boards including the Timmins Learning Centre and Timmins Economic Development Corporation, and is a Past President of the Timmins Chamber of Commerce. She served the provincial government previously on the Small Business Agency of Ontario and currently as a cabinet-appointed member of the Ontario Citizen’s Council for the Ontario Public Drug Programs under the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. Marilyn holds a Masters degree in Business Administration, (International Development) and prior to moving to Timmins, worked as a consultant for many years with the Aboriginal communities of James Bay and in health and social development projects in developing countries. She joined the Timmins and District Hospital Board in 2012.
